Funny how even the most vocal opponents of 'mature' drivers change their tune when THEY start approaching pension age!
Insurance statistics show that the most dangerous drivers on the roads are between 17 - 25 years of age!
My employing company use lease vehicles and recently all drivers had to undertake an hour long safety and competence test. Surprise surprise, of the 11 company car drivers in my department (with ages ranging from 27 to 64) the 64 year old was the only one to pass first time. The tester said he felt obliged to say that this person was a better driver than he was!
I was quite chuffed! [though at 64 i hope i do not yet classify as 'old']. |

truth is there is more younger people who have wrecks than older ones and you got your fact wrong there is more place that say younger people shouldn't drive til they are older is why they are raising the age limits to drive |

Just go to ANY motor vehicle Insurance Companies website. They are always advertising for older drivers because they are less of a risk to insure. They want older drivers; they need older drivers to offset the losses that they incur whilst insuring the younger drivers who are crashing into each other like lemmings on their annual migration.
There is only one Insurance company actively courting owners of hot rods and high performance cars. |

Maybe that's 'cause they shouldn't?
I think they should have to take a test when they reach a certain age and be tested on reaction times and whatnot. |
