Go or call the police department, I know they give away baby seats ....see if they have booster seats also.

p.s. in florida they do this I don't know if they do it where you live.

Your local Dept of Health will give them away for free. Some police agencies do also.

if it is a booster seat for a toddler, they have them at walmart for like 13 dollars... dont know if it complys with your state laws though

You didn't mention the age of the child. Illinois has had car seat/booster seat laws in place for years now, but all states seem to have different age and weight restrictions. Since both of my kids are over 4 and over 40 pounds, I can use pretty much any kind of booster I want. Wal Mart has a very small booster seat (no shoulder harnesses) for about $19. If you need one with shoulder harnesses, I would recommend Babies R Us or Toys R Us. They both have a great selection in lots of price ranges. For that matter, Wal Mart has some with the shoulder harnesses, too.
