Yes, but its not just in the Chicago area. Accidents happen everywhere because of cell phone talking while driving. That is why in some areas such as District of Columbia it is against the law to talk on the cellphone at all while driving. They have made it so where fines are given if you are seen by the police on the phone while driving. The reason why these things cause accidents is because the driver is only able to keep their attention on the road while glancing elsewhere a second at a time. The maximum amount of time that you can keep your focus elsewhere without a collision is around 3-4 seconds. So if you are texting or talking then your focus is inhibited and you become oblivious to your surroundings. Cellphone talking has caused accidents and even death. It should be against the law and to answer your question its not just isolated to one area. You have drivers that make poor decisions everywhere. |

Absolutely! There is a TON of traffic there and people basically pay attention to the phone and not what is going on everywhere else and when they are texting and looking at their phones, they could get hit by a car in the traffic or anything else! And when they are talking on the phone, they usually pay attention to what the person is saying and not to what is going on. But this doesn't mean I don't like cell phones. Texting and talking on it are some of my favorite things!!! |

yea totally in all areas i used to live there but now seattle, its so bad to be on ur phone in rush hour...especially texting for ur safety and others dont do it now they have fines too!!
