no apparently - taxis don't have accidents so children don't need to be on a seat- my sister says she read they shouldn't have seatbelt on either- obviously flying through the windscreen is less dangerous than having a seatbelt on- you just maim the front passengers!!! |

no, they're not required by law to have car seats for passenger children...but in my opinion, they should have at least a child booster seat ready. |

No vehicle is exempted from seat laws, not even taxis ,they will have it in there trunk, most of the time, with a car seat for your child but they will put it in, its the law, taxis must follow the law like everyone else no exception |

Taxi's do not have to follow the same laws as any other car on the road however the child carseat law does not also the rear seat passengers don't have to have on seat belts only front seat passengers and the drive has to obey traffic laws. I have never pulled over a taxi for breaking the law it would be like pulling over a fire truck or a off duty officer. they (the taxi drivers )are doing something for the commuinty a public service driving drunks home after parties so we don't have drunks on the road. |

It is not required,
but many times if you call a cab company and request one, they will send a cab that has one. |

no, there are three exceptions to the child safety law. the first is if you are expecting unscheduled stops on a short journey, the second is in a taxi as it is considered impractical to carry this amount of extra luggage in a private hire vehicle |
