I have noticed that drivers who wear headgear seem to drive very slowly. Does one cause the other?

Yes. If you look at some of the old time racing drivers (Jackie Stewart, Stirling Moss, Nigel Mansell) you will find that they all wear caps when driving 'normally' as they have been going fast for so long they use the cap to counteract the years of racing they have done. Unfortunately for normal people the cap just slows them down too much. |

i have noticed that people that push the accelerator further than is needed are the ones that drive fast. and the ones that don't push it enough are the ones that drive slow.
your observation of hats is a unrelated to the issue of speeding and slow driving. |

Yes, slows you down. It also means that you can drive through pedestrian crossings (with people crossing) and red traffic lights, without the prospect of being nicked for driving without due care and attention (Muppets!). |

If they are chavs wearing baseball caps.... they are slow full stop! lol.... If it is a cap in an open top car! Well that is whole different ball game... if the guy is bald, what is the point of wearing a cap, unless he is protecting his bald patch from the sun! |

I am sure caps are extremely bad for driving. They will slow you down, stopyou from looking properly, even indicating at junctions. Never, ever wear anything on your head when you drive. |
