Ours is thinking of doing away with them as the city loses $400,000 a year by having them. Maintenance and collection more than the worth.
Additional Details
Always liked the town of Greystone Colorado. Population two. They had several parking meters and other signs for their metropolis left there mainly by deer hunters.

Yes it does and it's a cash cow for the city. Most parking meters in Downtown and vicinity are to be fed 24hours, while other areas of the city have meters that go free-of-charge from between 6pm-7am and free on sundays. |

yes now that u metion it. the city of buffalo is alway looking for ways to bring people downtown( i live near there) maybe one way to do that would be to remove the meters ?? |

Portland , oregon has trick meters. They are in the middle of the block. you put in your money or credit card and it gives you a sticker that you put inside your passenger door window. So, you are parked at the end of the block and by the time you walk down , get your sticker and walk back the meter maid has slapped a parking ticket on your car. This system is bogus on many levels. And it turns out cheaper to just pay the $12.00 than it is to take half a day off to fight it. |
