Double Solid Lines on the Freeway?

You know the Double yellow solid lines on the Freeway in the carpool lane? I know that people cant cross into the carpool lane when they are like that but has any of you noticed that when u are in the carpool lane that there is a white solid stripe before the double yellows? Are the people in the carpool lane allowed out when they see the solid white stripe with the double yellow stripes???

In Tennessee the lines are not like this. Our lanes are dashed with white as standard.

The answer for the proper driving in these areas should be in your state highway drivers book or your states web site for highway driving.

You are not allowed to cross any solid line (except on a city street to make a turn.)

If there are double lines and one line is dashed and one line is solid, you are allowed to cross from the dashed side to the solid side, but are not allowed to cross from the solid side to the dashed side.

If there are double solid lines, you are not allowed to cross in either direction.
