No I do not think she can I see no reason why she would. So no she is paranoid.

top-down
So, let's get this straight. Your mother-in-law owns a car. You drive it despite the fact that your license is suspended. I assume you also don't have any insurance. So, can she loose her house? Well, if you get into a collision and it's determined to be your fault the other driver's lawyer will go after the registered owner of the car for settlement. Your mother-in-law's insurance company won't honour the claim, so she'll have to liquidate all of her assets up to the amount of the settlement. Could she loose her house? She'll loose that and a great deal more. The best thing she could do is to report the car stolen the next time you drive out of the driveway with it.

well for one yes u run over and kill someone they will sue her to get the money and u should not be driving without a license if suspended you go to jail cause the state took it cause you are a high risk, u both will be deep doo doo

goodyisback2010
tell her as long as she says she doesn't know anything about it she won't get a ticket, even if you both agree to say the same thing, you'd be lying to her though, she can get a ticket if not fined and sued if you get into an accident and damage another vehicle or kill or injur someone else, because her name is on the title so she is still responsible, so yes, she could lose her house because of your stupidity , oh and also everybody else that has said no she can't get into any trouble is wrong, I am almost certain of it, your an unlicensed driver and her name is on the title so think about it, she could very well be sued as well, she is the owner she is responsible for it

evertalall
It it illegal to drive any car without license. In an accident the driver will certainly go to jail and the owner of car will not get insurance money .

If you get into an accident,,her insurance will go up.And if you get caught driving without a license while suspended ,,you can loose it for-ever or could do time in jail for aggrevated unlicensed operation. You should wait until your license is not suspended to drive.Work on that. Then put the car in your name even if she still helps you pay for it until you get on your feet. She has reason to be paranoid. Its still in her name & I think that was really nice of her to give you a car.Clean up your license,,its important to keep it right. Now,,do the right thing. ;O) She could loose her house by having to put up the rent/mortgage money for your bail or bond if they are lenient with you.Thats how much you mean to her,,she would put up her house for you.

She will get in a lot of trouble with the law if they catch you driving her car.and yes she is liable if something happened. If you were to have an accident, she would have to pay for it ,sense she new you had no license, the insurance company would not pay for it.and she would get sued ,and yes probable loose her home. young people, they never think of the end result of things till it's to late. stop driving the car, have some respect for her and her wishes.Grow up!!!

if you do something really stupid in her car, another person could file a civil law suit and name her as a plaintiff. whether or not she could lose her house depends on how stupid of thing you do and who feel they have been wronged or hurt by your stupidity.

put her paranoid mind at ease, register the car in your name or your spouses name so she does not have to worry about it. it was awful nice of her to give you the car to begin with. its the least you can do.

Nope, the only thing that will happen is you will go to jail or get a ticket, and the car will be impounded. Nothing will happen to your mother except she will have to get the car out of the impound.

kktruckin
She can't lose her house. But if you get stopped you will go to jail, the car will be impounded and it will cost you a ton of money to get out of that situation.

All your mother'in'law has to do is provide the police with a statement that says she gave the car to you and it is no longer her car and she is in the clear from any wrong doing.

You on the other hand should really think about what you are doing. It would be wiser and less expensive for you to get the car title changed into your name and get your drivers license reinstated (if that is possible and if it is not possible than get out from behind the wheel of car before you get into real trouble or possiblly kill someone)
