What is a driver's responsibility regarding this? Do you have to stop to see if someone has been in an accident if it is not apparent.

There is no law that says you HAVE to help anyone. However, if you have a conscience, and think they may need some help, you could try. What if it was you injured, or someone you love?
However, if they appear to be alright, you could at least dial 911 to report the accident. |

You are not required to stop and in most cases you should not even consider stopping. What would you do anyway? Ask if they needed help? So just assume they need help and call 911. Too many accidents are staged to commit a robbery or worse. Recently someone stopped to help an accident victim. It turns out the accident was the result of running from the police. The guy who stopped to help was murdered and had his car stolen. That was on a busy city street in daylight. |
