Driving Rules help plzzz!!!?

My parents think that in illinois, if they allow for me to get a permit at age 16 they will go to jail, if i crasz or something happens to me since they signed off on my permit. I know they are wrong so can any one show me a goverment website where i can prove them wrong plz...

They cant go to jail, because at 15 its legal to get a permit. However, you could get your permit revoked and you'd be unable to get a driver's license until you are 18. Read this web page

EDIT: You can go to jail if you hit someone and you don't have a driver's license and a licensed adult wasn't in the car with you. * I meant to put that in, I just forgot*

They won't go to jail but since it is their car if you do get into a traffic accident then they would have to pay if it was your fault.

Its not funny and in every state in the event that you are involved in a serious accident, yes your parents will and could be sued and yes they could go to jail and this has happened many times if you read the news.........
