Driving What pi*ses you off?

I know exactly what your on about. I drive for a living and generally find that OAPS, older generations of asians, chinese, africans and some women are the culprits. OAPS should be assesed every year after their 65. If they cant stick to a safe speed eg (doing 30mph on a 60mph road in clear dry conditions is not safe) then they should have their liscences revoked until competant. Any older generations of immigrants should be made to sit a British test instaed of just being able to change their liscence to a British one. Also learner drivers should pay be made to pay for lessons that invlove night driving and motorway driving then sit a test at the end of it, and until they pass those tests they can only drive in daylight hours on A and B roads.

I've not drove for many years son, but even when I did it seemed to me that every year the roads got worse. I can remember when I drove a cromwell tank in '49 that would have been good training for the roads today!!

You're in a long line of traffic, following a lorry or something. Some prat zooms up behind you and sits 1/2 inch from your back bumper. Will it get him there faster? No. Will it increase the chance of and "accident"? Yes.

People that don't realize that directionals come on ALL makes and models or people that put on their turn signal AFTER they're already in the turn lane. I know that you're turning then, DUH!

don't get me started on farmers! I know they have to move stuff around but when you have had 30 cars behind you for 5 miles u could pull over for a min. grrrrrr :)

On a slow moving motorway the person who moves from lane to lane looking for the fastest moving one and cannot find it because it does not exist.

Drivers who are changing the rules of the road and jump red traffic lights because they think they can just make it, this is becoming an epidemic

I hate it when people drive slow in the fast lane. I hate when people slow down to almost stopped to turn a corner. I hate it when you put on your turn signal but no one will let you get into the lane. I hate it when people talk on the phone and not pay attention to their driving. There is a lot more that pisses me off but I'll stop now.

My #1 answer, as a resident--rat runners. Look up "rat run" in Wikipedia if you've never heard of this term.

These are "short-cutters" who travel en masse on roads that were never designed for it--those tiny, secluded, single-lane paths with nothing on them but farms and tiny quaint houses. They were DESIGNED for seclusion, but then locals heading to work fail to respect this and instead travel en masse on the road and turn it into a mini-freeway, showing total lack of respect for the residents who moved there specifically to GET AWAY from such traffic.

This is my life now. I left the large city to GET AWAY from huge volumes of traffic, I live in a place so remote you can't even get cable TV or DSL Internet, that sort of thing. The road I live on is very much "residential" in nature, 1-lane (no white-lines) and nothing but farms and tiny homes back here. No stores, no businesses of any type, no schools, you'd think the road would be dead, that's what I moved back here for. The "No Trucks" signs should definitely have made that really obvious, we don't want work commuters barreling through here!

But apparently people in neighboring small towns have found out they can save 2-10ths of a mile on their work commute traveling back here, so this would-be quiet haven has instead become a mini-freeway. So much for walking the dog or taking your child for a stroll in the stroller, you might as well try doing it on the freeway.

There are places that this is against the law, rightly so I will say, and if there is anything I can do to make it the case here, I will definitely do it.

try to get a handle on your internal self feelings. it's not the end of the world. maybe i do these things. the only thing that sometimes bothers me is when i really need to get somewhere and my car won't start or breaks down and i have to miss something fun or when others were counting on me. leave earlier so you won't be so pressed. plan a couple of traffic problems in your trip so you won't be suprised. think about how the people causing problems (like wrecks, accidents, etc are having worse probelms that you. count your blessings.

People are often inconsiderate and rude. You can't change them, all you can do is watch out for the idiots so they don't hit you.

I think the thing that I detest more than anything else on the road - is other drivers.

None are as good as me.
I try not to be big headed, but that's the way it goes.

The good Lord gave me these fantastic driving skills - and extremely good looks - and nice teeth, and everything works perfectly.

Next time He comes down to worship me I shall tell him, "Now look here, God bloke. You may be the ultimate creator and you can twiddle your fingers and turn people into trees and things - so please wiggle your nose like Samantha does in Bewitched and turn all the other drivers into frogs, and while your about it, turn all the cars in the world to pumpkins and stack them in Cinderella's back garden."

Driving down a narrow country lane, and find a 38 tonne truck coming round the bend.

Twice it happended today. DO these driver s not realise country lanes weren't meant for 38 tonne trucks. They never bleedin' used them before SatNav came along.
