First off congrats this is a big step in being an adult.
second Breathe ............watch your parents drive in the car. ask questions this will be a fun experience.have your mom or dad take you to a vacant parking lot and practice till you feel at ease don't just hit the road.
third everyone makes mistakes just be cautious of your surroundings and be calm. you'll do fine |

If you have a proffessional driving instructor they have a brake pedal on their side of the car passenger side so you do not have to worry about any accidents or anything. Just relax because you are learning. I signed up for a profesional to take me driving for a few hours each week it was a great experiance and I did not drive my parents crazy having them teach me I think this way is actually better because you are less stressed about your parents being in the car with you. Good luck and don't worry relax you'll do great. |

your apprehension is an indication that you will probably be a good and cautious driver. remember that the person in the car with you will be helping you and that he/she is a trained professional in helping people learn how to drive. a lot of driver's ed cars have a second set of brakes on the passenger side for use in the event of a dire emergency. you will not be driving in heavy traffic right away, so you will have plenty of time to become comfortable controlling the vehicle. If you do freeze up and completely freak out behind the wheel, keep in mind that you're not the first person that it's ever happened to. If you begin to feel like you're too scared and not ready, I think it would be wise for you to wait a few weeks and try again. Sometimes the driver's ed teacher will let you ride around while other students are practicing so you can see what it's like and know what to expect. I was 24 before I ever got my license because I was so scared for so long. Being nervous is normal, though. And you're probably really excited, too. I'm excited for you, too. You will do well. Be safe, and good luck. |

once u get used to being behind the wheel, you wont be nervous. you should just stick to it and see that it's not that hard.
my first time i wasn't that nervous, but i was a little scared.. to hit other cars and such. |

Just what are you nervous about? The actual driving, or making a mistake. What else have you had to learn in your life. Were you nervous about that? Just think of some thing that you have already learned with ease and elegance. If you have learned anything, you can learn anything. Relax and know that you can do this with ease. |

So are you taking your first lesson with a qualified instructor in a dual control car?
If you are so nervous, you should not drive with anyone in a non-dual control vehicle until you have obtained some confidence. |

Nothing to be scared about. Are you going with a driving school or with your parents?
The most important thing is to pay attention, and do what that person tells you.
The number one thing that annoys me about drivers is when they feel the need to stop on a hill. What is the scientific reason for that?! I know they think they will tip over, and that's silly. In fact, you need to increase your speed and don't turn so much.
Practice on local neighborhood streets first. Practice your turns, putting your turn signal, looking at your mirrors and all the basis things.
There really isn't much to it. I learned how to drive in an SUV, not a small car-so it was different, but eventually you really do get better with practice. |

Pay attention and if your parents are gunna be beside you try your best not to make them scream. When i was driving for the 1st time I thought that the accerlate was the brake pedal so the car lurked forward. For the first week i was sweating everytime i drove but im fine driving a car now.
GOOD LUCK |

It's okay. I'm in college now but I remember the when I went on my first drive with the instructor I was really nervous too. Looking back it was stupid to worry about it because it's really no big deal. Just take it slow (there really is no hurry at all) and don't try to show off and you'll be fine.
My first experience was kind of funny because it was me and thee other girls in the car for the lesson. Well the first girl that drove was REALLY bad. ha ha. She kept going into the oncomming traffic in the other lane and I thought I was going to die multiple times. By the time it was my turn I had nothing to worry about because there was no way I'd do worse than her.
So just stay in your lane so the poor guy in the back seat doesn't have a heart attack. hahaha. But really, you will be fine. Just take it slow. They are there to teach you so they don't expect you to be any good anyway. Hope I helped.
GOOD LUCK!! |
