Driving in a NARROW street?

Driving in a NARROW street?

Unfortunatly, I automatically failed my drive test because he said I made a "critical error" when driving in a narrow street. Heres what happened:

I know that you are supposed to drive in the middle of the street when you are on a narrow street (esp. when there are cars parked on both sides). He said I did something wrong when there was a car coming from the other side. What i did what scoot from the middle to the right a bit so we could both move, he didn't do anything. Even when i did this, we were still pretty close.

Was I suppost to go next to he curb (like i was parking my car) and let him go? I think he was trying to tell me something like that but he had a bad accent and he smelled horribly. Can anyone verify or explain?

If the cars are parked on the side of the street you're driving on, you stop. If they're on the other side you have right of way and they should stop. But that doesn't mean they will so be prepared to stop anyways.

to the right? we drive on the left!.
probably you were trying to let other driver through but correct thing is to stop assess whom is going to let whom through and if you need to move over you go to left! as though you were parking. If the other car went past you on wrong side of you it would be held that you gave him? her no choice and thus were in breach of safe driving code ( On left at all times unless one way street so marked with signs or road markings indicating otherwise) I suspect this sis a busy road and often has problems passing each other which i why he took you down it, have your instructor take you back down it and explain what you did etc and have him tell you correct way to approach it etc. good luck next time.

Well, If you are driving on the side that has the parked cars then you stop to give him more room to drive, and same goes for him. If the street is packed on both sides then it is expected that you both yield to each other and establish who will go. If you can try to pull in between the cars on the side of the road if the oncoming car is unable to, it will be easier on you both.

However with the drivers on the roads nowadays don't expect to much courtesy from the other drivers.
