Driving lessons not having a good time !?

I would recommend you to change your instructor! Mine was also terrible and did that to me from time to time. We didn't have a very good relationship so I didn't even tell him that i wanted to go to the exam to get the final license as I knew he was going to tell me that I was sh*t and that I could never pass it, the truth is that I passed it but I've never enjoyed driving, I don't know if the fact that I didn't enjoy his lessons is one of the reasons why I don't feel secure driving, but I've not driven since I was 18! Change instructor before it is too late and you hate driving like me!! Best of luck!
P.S: I don't drive but a the end it wasn't that bad as with my license I can ride motorbikes and I love it!

Get rid of him hun....i feel your pain, im doing my lessons at the mo and have my test in a couple of days and my instructor used to yell at me till i put him straight and told him stressing me out isnt gonna help and only make me crash...since then hes been fine and ive improved...but if your guy is telling you to go faster when your doin the speed limit and making you uncomfortable, find a new one....AA, i think you only pay for the name with them, smaller ones are better I think. Get rid of him, i worked with th AA for 8 years until 2 years ago, some of the instructors they allowed to take up a franchise i personally wouldn't touch with a barge pole, mostly those straight out of training are now working under the AA in the area i teach anyway.
Ask your friends there the only ones who really know what an instructor is like.

many friends of mine had the same problem with their instructors. if you feel that you cant continue with him, choose someone else. you have that right and dont forget that driving is serious! you need someone to teach you and not make you more nervous that i suppose you already are

Sounds a bit dodgy & you should definately report him and look for a new instructor.
The most important thing for you is that you feel comfortable with your instructor, then you will learn quicker from them.

get a new one your paying him not the other way round. There are some brilliant driving instructors about and alot who drag it out to get more money out of you

Learning to drive can be a challenge. To get the most benefit from your experience, you have to relax as much as possible. Maybe getting another instructor who's alot more patient with you is your best bet. Once you gain confidence in your driving skills and with other people being in the car with you, the sky's the limit.

Get rid of him, if you can't have a laugh and a joke with your instructor it makes the task much more difficult.
Nobody learns anything through shouting.

If you are not happy with his methods of instruction , report him to the main body at the AA , they should be able to change him for someone more suitable.
