Driving lessons what should be the age limit?

There should be no age limit. Providing the person is in good health then why not learn to drive. The test will sort out those who should not be out on their own but they can just have fun learning.

i think a better question would be what should the minimum age be to start driving and that should be 21. too many d*ckhead boy racers around (sorry not very pc , i mean car enthusiasts) after the age of 60 we should have to have regular medicals in order to keep our licence including eye sight tests. its about time the law came down heavy on divvy drivers, who drive like *****, have no insurance, tax or mot and those that cause death by dangerous driving should have a minimum sentance of 5 years per life taken. sorry to rant bad and inconsiderate drivers are one of my pet hates we have loads of em round here !!

i think they should put the age up to 21 and i dont think there should be a time limit but you should have to re sit your test every 10 years.

Too old is when you forget where you're going and everybody bypasses you at 25 mph. If you are unable to see and depend on driving by braille, then you're license should be taken away.

It is more about experience than age. You could be 30 years old and never have driven a car. I would say the age is open, and training shouldn't be based on that. good luck.

As long as your eye sight is fine you should be allowed driving lessons(and your memory)

I have got a pupil who is 59 yrs old and I am sure she will obtain a full licence soon

Here in Michigan, country kids can get a license to drive because they have to drive farm equipment in the road.

I don't think there should be any limit on age for lessons with a qualified instructor in a dual controlled car.The oldest person I have taught is 82 years old.

Unfortunately, she didn't pass. I felt bad, but I could not put her on the road. Her eyesight wasn't good enough, and her reflexes were too slow. But she enjoyed driving so much she came back for extra lessons so she could drive some more. I just took her out on the country roads and let her drive with no one around. She didn't get a license, but she had some fun.

Never too old. A defensive driving course, cutting edge maneuvers will keep any driver sharp. Just as important, here in Michigan 14 years 9 months is the minimum age limit to begin driving lessons.
