Aside from the fact that people in Kuwait drive like lunatics, the environment there is pretty safe. As an American working there for 2 years I never felt that I was unsafe EXCEPT while I was commuting on the roads. There is very much a "me first" attitude among many people there and they will pass you at 150km an hour on the right through 3 or 4 lanes of congested traffic just to get back in front of you in the fast lane. If I recall correctly, Kuwait has the 10th or 11th highest death toll for auto accidents on the roads in the world, and this is a country the size of Delaware. Yikes!
So, if you want to take a job driving there, be warned. Also, many of the people in this kind of job do not speak much English, most are Egyptian, Indian, Bangladeshi, etc.
