i am basically posting this question to get other peoples views on this scenario that happened the other day . i am disabled. i was born with spina bifida. most people born with this are wheelchair bound, and cant do a whole lot for themselves. i am one of the Lucky ones who can walk with the assistance of leg braces, and i have a number of other problems that you wouldn't know about just by looking, and you always try to make yourself appear as normal as possible. i am also very self sufficient. with that being said, the scenario is this. yesterday i was parking my car in the handicap parking spot at the grocery store, and when i got out this old woman comes up to me and says, you shouldn't park there unless you are handicapped, and i said yeah i know i have the placard right there, and she says well its probably not even yours, and she walks away. now i know alot of people use them and don't even need them, but im not one of them. if i shouldn't park there who should? her comment hurt my feelings, cause growing up in school kids can be cruel. so should i take it as a complement that my disability goes more undetected than than i think, or should she just have minded her own business.

If you have the right to park there then you park there. Who cares about the opinions of others. People are quick to judge. Don't worry about it. |

First of all I am sorry that you have such a terrable diasease. As for that fool that said that to you I would held up my placard and said"too bad they do not give these to idiots then you could park here". |

that lady should have minded her business. im so sorry about your disability by the way. it doesn't matter if she doesn't know you are handicapped, as long as you know it. you feel free to park in the handicapped spot if you have more convenience doing so with your disability. i dont know who that old hag thinks she is confronting you.
don't let her comment hurt your feelings. she sounded a little jealous in her last comment. she sounds extremely stupid saying that its not yours. as if you reached into someone's car window and took it. |
