I did 135 in a old (and I do mean old) Ford truck with worn out shocks. It's quite a ride floating along at those speeds. The Good Lord looks out for fools though, if an armadillo had wondered into my path.... It could have been ugly. Don't think about doing it though, you kill yourself and it's on you - kill somebody else and you have to live with it the rest of your life. |

I did about 110 once. In Europe, where it was legal. Of course, that was after several days of tooling around at 95, so it didn't seem all that fast! In a diesel-engined car, no less. |

Nope. |

Yes, but only a few times. My Jeep sure won't go that fast!
But my motorcycle can do it in 2nd gear, and it's all too easy to fly along at triple-digit speeds. |

115, a long time ago, on a closed road. But, when I was young, stupid, and indestructible, it was fun. |

First time, briefly, in a '73 Olds Vista Cruiser station wagon.
On several occasions in my first '66 Mustang and friend's Impala.
Most 'interesting' high-speed experiences were a rear tire blow out in a full size Bronco at 85 mph and a transmission failure in a '69 Mustang that locked up the drivetrain at 75 mph. |

I went 130 once in the backroads of central Jersey. I would have gone faster but I ran out of road. |

scariest time was when i took my miata 115 mph on a road with lots of turns, we almost flipped like 5 times, trying to keep up with a bmw 745. not a good idea |

How does 85mph in a 1948 Buick with clapped out suspension sound? Or maybe 93mph in a 1966 Toyota Corolla, well that's what the speedo showed? Or 120mph in a 20 year old Mercedes S-class, could have gone faster but ran out of road? |

Yes, My Husband and I went to the Dale Jarret Racing Adventure in Kentucky last year. It was a BLAST. I would love to do it again someday. You get instruction, and then drive the car yourself. Kind of pricey, but well worth it. |

Yes. It's really tedious, honestly. Traffic makes it extremely difficult to maintain safety. You have to keep slowing down. In the end it's just an exercise in frustration, a waste of fuel and begging to get a serious ticket.
On the other hand I've driven thousands of miles at 80 mph out on desolate freeways in the west. The roads are less crowded and everyone else is doing 75-80 too. That's nice. |

More times than I can count. 155 mph in a honda civic being the fastest so far, I will advise against it though, its a hairy ride in such a small car. (before the haters start it was a 200 front wheel horsepower civic that was substantially lightened). I've been well into the 100mph zone in plenty of cars that you might not expect to go that fast (ford escort GT for example, they do 130 plus with a few mods) |
