Have you ever parked in a handicap parking spot?

All the time I have handicap plates. I think is very interesting all those that do and their excuses. THe law says you must have a placard or plate for handicap. Others can not park there for any other reason. Not for a second not if they stay in the car. There is no excuse or defense.

But people who aren't physically handicapped and who do park in those spaces are actually somewhat mentally handicapped (psychotic, selfish) so in a way, I suppose they have some excuse...

No, I'd walk from the back of the parking lot in a snow storm if there were no other spots and thank god every step of the way for the ability to do so, Although I may need a wheel chair by the time I get to my destination. =)

but unlike betty boop's encounter with the hypocrit, he was actually going into the store with me.

note that heart-condition-related handicaps aren't always apparent to the casual observer.

My sister use to pick up bank bags and on the contract she gets to park as close to the door as possible and since it is after hours she pulls into the handicap spots. This one night at around 11pm I went with her on her run and we pulled into one of the handicap spots (there were 3) and she ran inside. Another car pulled up to the one next to us and went to use the ATM. Then another car pulled up on the other side of us 3 spaces over - when he got out of his car he was yelling at me. You cannot park in the handicap spot without proof your handicapped. I just looked at him because it wasn't my job. My sister then came out and he started screaming at her and the guy at the ATM. Finally my sister said there are 3 spots why you parked all the way over there is not our fault! So he heads (walking) over to the ATM cursing under his breathe at them. As my sister is getting in the car he starts in again about the spot and she says you don't look all that handicapped to me! He replies I not my wife is! We both started laughing because he is actually abusing the card himself!

Yeah, but just for a quick errand. I mean, no one ever notices. Just make sure you don't see any police cars around. Usually it's fine to park there. But don't be there for hours. 30 minutes, the most.

Yes. My bad.

I haven't actually parked there. I pull in and stay with the car while my wife or passenger runs into a store. If another car indicates that they require the space I just pull out and circle the lot. But I have seen other drivers that are not as compliant and my son tells me that he saw a non handicapped driver actually threaten another driver once, rather than give up the spot. Now, that's bad.
