now fuel is falling in price the speed of vehicles is getting faster.
when fuel was more expensive road users slowed to save fuel this could only have been a good thing for road safety. now the idiots have been let off the chains. don`t you agree.

No, to be honest I don't - I did a lot of miles cross country on A roads over the summer & at the height of fuel prices, the roads were full of queues of motorists stuck behind a car doing 45 -55mph, causing a lot of people to (rightly or wrongly) get wound up & take risks in overtaking. |

I drive a lot for a living and certainly not noticed it. The traffic is the same and the average speeds are the same.
Speed is not the main killer on the roads. Hard to speed in heavy traffic anyway. |

you have hit the nail on the head. it seams silly. You think people would have learnt about best cruising speed for fuel economy. Even though prices have dropped don't believe they are going to stay down., and everyone knows it is a good thing to drive more slowly not like a boy racer for safety's sake. |

definitely! I know that when going along the long stretch of national speed limit dual carriageway near where I live, the average car driver has been trundling along at around 55-60 for the past few months - the number of people going past has been a lot lower, you will always get the d*ckheads who think that doing 90mph on a road where lorries can only go 50mph is a safe thing to do, but they probably don't pay for their fuel anyway so don't care!
Just gone down to 92.9p unleaded here today - funny that when you see the price come down you seem to think it's good value!!!! It's still stupidly overpriced! |

I see more people out cruising and more SUVs, but no-one slowed down where I live.
While I don't like paying 4 bucks a gallon, anything that takes a cell phoning soccer mom in an Escalade off the road can't be all bad. |
