Will it? Probably not. A lot depends on your weight, what you are drinking, if you had en empty stomach, etc. etc.

If you have a little to drink, it impairs your ability to drive, a little.
If you have a moderate volume of beer, wine, alcohol products, it impairs your driving ability a moderate amount.
The more you drink then drive, the more you are oblivious to your job of being a safe driver.

Absolutely correct.

A person can begin driving in an impaired condition even before he has begun drinking. Things that can affect a person's ability to drive include lack of sleep, illness, and, of course various kinds of medication and drugs.

All of these things can contribute to a reduction in concentration, motor skills and judgement, which are the exact things that alcohol does to a human body. Mix these things (shaken OR stirred) in one's blood stream, you can see that the addition of even ONE drink is not needed to cause someone to drive in a careless, dangerous.

What often confuses people is the figure of .08 BAC. It is almost universally accepted, in the US, as the point at which a person is automatically presumed to be intoxicated. In other words, as far as alcohol in the system, if a person is tested with this, minimum amount of alcohol in the system, there is no defense possible to claim the driver is not drunk. But, for anything UP to that point, it is the driver's behavior, either while driving, or during any routine roadside test for drunkedness, an officer can make the determination that the driver is too impaired to operate a motor vehicle.

I know that this is a long-winded explanation, but my research, which has been extensive since 2001, shows that MANY people have trouble understanding this. I hope that I have helped clear things up, a bit, for you.

2)type of drink
3)have said person had anything to eat
4)weight of patient
5)how long after drinking did one drive
6)has a person had gastric bypass in the last 6 mos
7)has the person taken any medication prescribed or illegal.

It really isn't a true or false answer there are to many possible variables. Try this site it may help.

It really depends on the type of drink and how tolerant you are. A beer effect is very different than a shot of vodka. I am sure you probably know that.....

it can definately. alot of states have adopted the .08% as the limit for dwi. in the case of truckers, the limit is much much lower. .02% for a commercial vehicle. impairment will start to affect driving even before the .08 limit. just fyi, drunk driving will play holy hell with yer checkbook, insurance rates, employment sometimes, and will remain on the record for as long as 10 years....not including jail time.
