Help Someone Reversed Into Me?

Yesterday a delivery driver reversed into me outside of my workplace. I did all the usual, got his details phoned my insurance company etc. I called his office and in fairness he had already reported the accident. My insurers have asked for the companies insurance details, which as yet (after 2 telephone calls and an email) they have yet to give me. I suppose what I want to know is A) How long should I wait before I chase it up again and B) If they don't give me their insurance details what I do next??

I know I'm probably worrying about nothing, but I am by instinct a natural worrier! Any advice would be grateful.

ps it was caught on Camera and I do have a couple of witnesses.

Your insurers will probably authorise repairs then retrieve costs from the other insurance.
Ring and ask how long.
I had a no blame accident in which the other drivers insurance took nearly a year but my insurance organised repairs without delay and I was refunded excess and expenses when they paid up.

1. For the next time something like this happens, consider that part of the information you collect at the scene should BE the insurance information. The driver of that delivery vehicle should have that insurance info in the car, with him.

2. For now, talk to your security people to make sure that video of the incident is saved and not routinely erased. One hopes that you won't need it, but if you do, you'll want to get hold of it right away.

3. Write down the time and dates of the times you tried to get the information from them. Try to remember who you spoke with, or to whom you addressed the email. Then try, one more time, today, to get the info. Be SURE you get the name of who you talked to. Record the time and date. Save these notes.

4. If they fail to give you this info today, call YOUR insurance company and give them what info you have, including these notes I just mentioned.

You may or may not be a worrier, but, they have NO excuse for not providing you with this information IMMEDIATELY. They are, clearly, stalling you. Don't threaten them. Don't warn them about what you are doing. Just, politely try to get the info one last time. Then, tell your insurance company and let THEM use their considerably greater influence to get the info. At this point, it is no longer your fight.

OK leave it a while . Your insurers should arrange for your repairs , Most of the chasing up is down to your insurer really , Give them name and address of company involved ..

Just phone your insurance company and explain that you've rung twice and emailed and they're not responding to your requests. Your insurance company will then contact them... or should do!
Good luck!

Leave the negotiations in the hands of your insurers. No doubt they will sanction repairs to your car but you will no doubt be required to the pay the excess to the repairers. Hopefully, the company's insurers will acknowledge liability and you will receive a refund of the excess.
Give your insurers a month and then chase up fortnightly.

The only thing you can do is phone them every day, be a pest. They will get fed up herring from you. Once you have the insurance details that's the last you will have to deal with the company them salves

Just remember one thing.........you pay insurance premiums so let your insurance company handle this for you and don't worry about anything....

you need to get their info. track them down. make them pay for all your damages since it was HIS fault.
