Helping my Brother to learn to drive.?

I would like to help my little brother to learn to drive. He has been having lessons but wants to do more driving. I was wondering how long you have to have passed your driving test to be able to sit beside a learner and what age you have to be?

Thanks.

You must have had your full licence for at least 1 year. Please remember to teach your brother that good driving is 50% courtesy and remember to check your blind spot before moving off..

To accompany a Learner Driver you MUST be over 21 years old AND have had a full licence for 3 FULL years.

In the UK you must have held a full license for 3 years before you can supervise a learner.
You need to have a full license for 4 years before you can become an ADI

In the UK you have to have held a full driving licence for the class of car being driven for four years or longer and be over 21 years of age. If you are accepting money for the tuition (even to pay for the petrol) you have to be an approved driving instructor.

UCANTCME
It differs from state to state but at least 21 years of age with a license of at least three years.

You have to be 21 I do believe, but check with local regulations. Although as long as your not goofing around and distracting your brother while he is driving you should be fine. Also don't be playing loud music either, or better still leave the radio turned off.

Its good that you want to help your brother learn to drive, but do not distract him, and don't critisize his driving habits, if he does something wrong point out what he did and how he can correct the mistake, don't yell at him. Remember you had to learn to drive once too and you made mistakes.

UK.

Learner drivers MUST be supervised by someone at least 21 years old who holds a full EC/EEA licence for that type of car (automatic or manual) and has held one for at least ****3**** years.

To accompany a learner driver you must have held a FULL licence for the category you are teaching for at least 3 YEARS and be at least 21 YEARS OLD.

you have to be at least 21 and have held a full license for a minimum of 3 years.

just be aware that after a few years of driving, you will probably have picked up a few bad habits - be careful not to encourage your brother to pick these up while he's learning! be ruthless about making sure he does mirror checks, and keeping to the speed limit!

also there are manoeuvres like parallel parking where you can use different methods. eg you can use reference points like wing mirrors, kerbs, bits of your car/the car you're alongside, or you can do it by counting turns of the wheel. if your brother has learnt one method and it works, don't try to make him use the other, even if you think it's better! while it will be beneficial for him to get some extra free learning time with you, it will be a bit pointless if he only ends up confused!

everything depends on what state your in, if its not a parent usually you have to have at least 4 years of driving experience (with a license) to be able to "co-pilot" a learner, then there can none of his friends in the car,

I believe that you have to hold a full licence for 4 years before you can take someone out.

once you have your full licence then it doesnt matter how long or how old you are
