Am asking as Im wanting to put my daughters car seat in the front and you cant do this with airbag on

The only way is to buy the Vauxhall child seat fitted with a transponder. This will turn the passenger airbag off automatically when it is placed in the front seat. As far as I know, this is still the only way to switch it off.

Some makes of car actually have a switch that is turned with the ignition key to isolate the airbag for this purpose. If you are set on using that particular child seat, you'll need to look at something else.

Warning - Turning off the air bag will put your lives at risk (an air bag saved mine) and will void your insurance.

A competent Vauxhall mechanic can advise you if you have a need to disable it.

No need to turn it off.Tell your wife to sit in the back.I thought my air bag was turned off but i had left her behind in the services when we stopped for petrol and she went for a wee
