The simplest solution block the driveway with something (traffic cones, garbage cans, etc.), so that cars cannot drive through it without stopping.
Signs and cameras will not work. Tire spikes and electric gates are expensive.

Put up signs saying Private Drive, No U Turns.
Leave a vehicle in the drive to block it.
Electric gate as you mentioned. |

It's your property and therefore private. Anyone uninvited should be considered trespassing.
I'd go with No Trespassing signs, highly visible, high and dry so no one would be bold enough to take them down. Take pictures of your house, include the signs, and install cameras. If someone should decide to spray-paint, you've got proof that you had those signs up, visible, and without any vandalism.
Someone suggested you park your car in the driveway - good suggestion, also an electric gate. Take pictures if you decide to do either or both. If someone's stupid enough to drive into that gate and get injured, it's on them: they've got no case because you've got visual proof they were trespassing, you didn't invite them and they had absolutely no business on your property. Case dismissed.

well you want to put something up to block the people from coming on to your property. But you also want to be able to get out of your own drive way.
get like two of those trespassing signs on some kind of board and put it in a cement bucket. this way you can move it but also be effective for people not to come on to your property.
Also if you put spike strips down you might end up with a lawsuit and might have to pay for peoples tries. way people are now with money, some are just looking to find away.
good luck to you |

I don't think you want to put Tire spikes up because its not that serious. An electric gate wouldn't be a good idea, because you don't want to cause injury to another person and you could be sued. Now I do agree that it is important to keep trespassers off of your property. The best way to do this without causing injury to another or sparking a lawsuit is to put a sign up on your property that says, "Do not trespass or make U-Turns". Its the best way to keep others out of your drive way. Since most drivers are competent enough to read then they should get the hint. Cameras wouldn't be a good idea, because that means you would have to watch 24/7 and I'm sure you don't have all of the time to do that. Signs at least say to the driver you are not welcome here. So give that a try. |

Call the police and talk with them because anything else that you do on your own could be illegal even though it is your property..... |

if you or someone you know who is artistically inclined try painting a "spike strip" at the ends of your driveway put up warning signs for them. next and place battery powered fake video cameras in plain view at both ends.
typically the people who do this will be repeat offenders, who need more than a "nudge" to get the point.
a low cost "trick" generally will be all it takes, and no confrontations will be necessary. [stupid people seem to anger quickly] |

Spike Strips!? I have seen portable speed bumps that you just lay on the pavement and drive into a black top driveway. Concrete drive, I'd go for the spike strips. |

It happens alot at my house. Parking a car in the driveway doesn't work they do it anyway. It is annoying cause they pull in fast and then peel out. They r so rude.. we had people park in it and then act like they don't see u or they ignore u telling them to leave .. |

Why do you care if someone turns around in your driveway? Why do you get so upset about this? Don't you have anything better or more constructive to do with your time? Try volunteering for the community, rather than being the bitter, complaining, unhappy grump in the neighborhood. God bless. |

I have incessantly told the kids on my street to stop turning around in my driveway. I live on a dead end street and the kicker is there is a turn around point 200 feet past my driveway. At this point they do it on purpose. I wouldn't care if they were not pumping the music loud enough to hear in my bedroom and waking up my 6 month old. I sit in my garage working and they pull up look at me and laugh. So....I put a spike strip with a sign. Once the first truck had two flats it wasnt an issue. You have to put it past the community property that is co-owned by you and the town. In my town it is from the curb to 10 feet. The police got involved and laughed at the kid. Lawsuit? LOL! Trespassing, its posted, its documented I have warned them. I have no legal liability. I am not bitter. Its a matter of respect and honestly cause and effect. I have made every attempt to be civil. Not everything can end with a smile. Although I was satisfied. |
