Ease up on the gas, a bit and tell the examiner what is going on and what you are doing about it. If the tailgater continues to follow dangerously close, find a safe, legal place to pull over, (using your signals) and let the other car pass. Again, tell the examiner what you are doing. If you should be doing anything different, he will tell you.
And don't forget, someone who might be driving a LITTLE too close, in your opinion, my not be doing anything particularly dangerous or illegal, so use good judgement. This, too, could be a suitible subject for conversation with the examiner.
Maintaining the speed limit is NOT always the best choice, even during a driving test. As the driver, you are responsible to make the proper decision on how to make a dangerous situation safer. If the tailgater is putting you at risk, doing nothing is NOT the correct action. |

this happened to me a few times when i was in drivers training. i tried to stay exactly on the speed limit. they can see the student driver sign so they can understand why you are not going over the speed limit. |

You should act calm and collected. The driver examiner will note anytime that you're rude or not paying attention to what is infront of you or to the sides. If someone who is tailgating you smashes into you, then it is their fault, but if you smash into something else, because you're not paying attention to what is at the sides of you, and what is in front of you, then you will MOST DEFINITELY fail you driver's licence. |

The safest thing to do is pull over somewhere safe and let them pass, do not panick use it as a learning experience, people tend to tailgate even if they are not on a drive test, remember to call 911 if you ever feel uncomfortable. |

Very simple.........just let the instructor know and they will handle this really quick and at the same time you will see how someone gets a ticket.......you will be getting a free second lesson. |
