How can I teach my 17 year old son how do to drive?

My son is 17 and is almost 18. He should've gotten his license about a year ago. But the problem is he's having a real difficult time learning how to drive. Although he's a straight A student and is in all honor classes, I feel like he's really bad at driving . It's like he just can't get it. He keeps making mistakes that are pretty dangerous for example he's always confused about when he's turning left from a four way intersection as to where to turn the car to and to which lane. He can't keep the car driving steady between two lanes for long etc....I've already hired two different driving insturctors at two different times and he keeps complaining that they aren't teaching him well. Now I'm not in a hurry for him to get his license and his safety and the safety of others is most important but the question is will he ever learn to become a good and confident driver?

P.S. I'm actually kind of scared to drive with him and there's no one else that could but he really wants to.

since your the only one he really trust its going to take a lot of patience to do this,and maybe a few good nerve pills,lol,just kidding,seriously though,he is like a lot of other people ,they are also hard to teach this,some people who are really good in school seem to have a hard time learning this,its a well known fact that most of the people who fail the driving test have a very high grade average,so all you can do is work with him,find a method of getting through to him that is on his level then you will achieve some results,i taught my friend to drive a long time ago,and i thought it was going to get me killed,but he finally learned how,start him out on a street that is not very busy a lot of people get really nervous in areas where the traffic gets heavy,you,ll find out what works best for him and you,then he will be a lot easier to teach,good luck with it,i know what your gong through,been there before.,,PS i have two girls with 4.0 grade average,they was like this also.

PATIENCE!!! my dad was a saint when i learned to drive. he took me out to the school parking lot and let me practice. whenever he went somewhere he made me drive him. most important he gave me the time and confidence until i became a safe, good driver.

Send him to a driving school. The very best is AAA driving school, which combines classes and actual driving time with a certified, professional instructor. That's the way to go. Don't risk your lives and other or risk a stress attack. Let the pros handle it.

When I was a teenager, at a workcamp, we learned how to drive. This girl either turned the wheel all the way to the right or all the way to the left.
So, if I were you, I would draw diagrams on paper, and carefully take your son through it (on paper). Sometimes, if yu don't know the road, unless it's marked, where to turn is sometimes tricky. Also, explain about yellow lines, the median. Maybe he isn't mature enough yet. My ex didn't drive until he was way over his teenage years. A good rule to follow is don't move if you don't see, and can't figure out where to go.

wen i was 13 my uncle taught me how to drive,but not in USA.
u should go to mexico,and go to a free spot,da only problem is dat he could crash da car.Mexicali is a free place,u can do a lot of stuff(bad and good)
