How can alcohol-related vehicle crashes be prevented?

Can you give me so solutions on what we can do to prevent alcohol-related crashes?

Paul
They CAN'T be prevented as long as alcohol can be bought or brewed.

have the car makers start installing a breath anylaxer in the cars. they have it.

wicked40s
install sensors in cars that can detect alcohol and will not operate ,not something you can blow into that can be easily defeated something that can sense it in the air .this way safety is insured and public transportation becomes a boom

Get the drunks off the road.

1. Mandatory 5-year alco-lock upon first conviction, after a minimum 1-year suspension. (And no "work license" either.)

2. Mandatory lifetime alco-lock and "drunk driver" tags upon second conviction, after a minimum 3-year revocation.

3. Mandatory lifetime lifetime license revocation upon third conviction.

sure....people who drink need to call cabs...and people who don't need to put down their cell phones and pay attention while in they are driving. Also....the government needs to put more money into prevention and treatment of alcohol and drug problems and less into prisons.

Everybody stop, drinking and driving...the penalties for same in some countries(eg Sweden) are so severe that almost noone does it. For some reason I cant figure out the US is still Mommycoddling drunk drivers with wet noodle penalties. The feds have dumped it onto the states..there goes consistancy.

impound their cars when people are caught drink driving
and keep their cars impounded until their driver licence
suspention is over.

repeat offenders who drink and drive should never be allowed to drive ever again.

A speical TAXI service

More advertising campains against drink driving

Institute a death penalty for drunk driving convictions. That's the only way (at least there won't be any repeat offenders!)

PALE FACE
a good place to start is to be a responsible person
and know when you cannot drive because you have had too much to drink. people that run bar,s should be held resonsible
also. why?? because if a person is in thier place of busniess
drinking all day, they should relalize that person is not capable of getting behind the wheel of a vehicle. they should call a cab, or offer to call someone to come pick them up.

another way is to cut them off before they get to that point
of intoxication. they have that right to do it. they might lose some custimers, but there would be more people getting home then there would be getting into alcohol related crashes.

tonuprocker
dont drink then drive...problem solved

better public transpo is the real key
