First of all we need to stop car crashes, not accidents. An accident implies that no one was at fault and that it is more or less a freak occurrence, not the case. A car crash on the other hand would be a more appropriate terminology use due to the fact that this implies that there was a crash and someone was at fault. Now to prevent a crash would mean taking people that do stupid things off of the road. Taking these people off of the road is impossible so then you need to look further back into the education and testing process and the age at which people are allowed to drive as opposed to their responsibility level. To stop crashes all together would be impossible. People hit deer and other animals as well. There is no way to remove the wildlife from the equation because we would have to destroy all wildlife, not a good thing. To answer your question bluntly, there is no possible way to stop crashes and it is impossible, by the meaning of the word accident, to stop accidents.
