STALKERS

This report is an attempt to educate persons regarding being
stalked particularly if you feel you may be being stalked at this
time.
"Stalking" is when one person tells another to leave them
alone such as when two individuals breakup a relationship.
The person told to leave can not or will not deal with the
rejection and pursues their ex-partner in an aggressive manner.
An aggressive manner which in many cases has proven deadly.

Subject: Stalkers

It is estimated that more than 200,000 stalkers are at large
in the U.S.

HELPFUL ACTIONS IF YOU ARE BEING STALKED:

NOTE: SEEK LEGAL COUNSEL IF YOU FEEL YOU ARE BEING STALKED

(1) never agree to meet the person stalking you.
You may feel that if you tell your stalker to leave you
alone, that they will do so.
Meeting your stalker is like telling them that you like
them.
The stalker will not believe anything else no matter what
you may say or try to convince them of.

(2) tell others.
tell your family, friends, co-workers, etc.

(3) give all the above a picture of the person if you have one.

(4) get an unlisted phone number and/or caller ID and/or a block
placed on your phone.
If you know the person's phone number who is calling you,
the phone company has a service which allows you to enter
phone numbers which you do not want call your residence.

(5) document everything.
any phone calls and the time you received the call,
any letters - make copies and give to family members if you
are receiving regular phone calls - you can purchase a phone
recording device at electronic stores such as radio Shack
for about $20.00 which will permit you to record all
incoming phone calls from the stalker.

(6) This may be a way for you to actually "catch him in the
act" if your stalker is calling and leaving message after
message for you which, in some cases, may be in bad taste.
This works best if you have a second line installed in your
home for your use.

CONSULT A LAWYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS. IT MAY NOT BE LEGAL IN SOME STATES. YOU DO NOT WANT TO
INVADE THE RIGHTS OF YOUR STALKER AND PLACE THE
LAW ON THEIR SIDE. THE LAW IS ALREADY ON THE
STALKERS SIDE TOO MUCH.

(a) get call forwarding on your old phone line

(b) Buy an answering machine with two-way record for
your home and place it on your old number.

(c) Tell all family members, friends and work associates to
use only the new phone number.

(d) On most answering machines, a new caller will hear a
beep for each caller that left a message before they
called to leave their message.
Since you will be using your new phone number for most
calls, you now will have the freedom to attempt to turn
things against your stalker using your old number.
Be sure to call your old number 2 - 3 times a day and
leave a message just to give your stalker the impression
that you are still using the old number.
By doing this, your stalker will think you are still
using the number due to hearing beeps on the answering
machine when they call to leave a message to harass you.

(e) Once your stalker calls you and leaves message after
message, you may consider calling your stalker.
Note: take your answering machine with you.
When you call, it may be best to call from a lawyers
office with the answering machine's two-way record
turned "on".
Tell your stalker to leave you alone and that you do
not want them to call, write or contact you in any
manner.
The reason for making the call from a lawyer's office,
is so that the lawyer can testify to what you actually
said to your stalker.
Your lawyer may want to type up a statement for you to
give to the stalker.
The two-way recording will record your request and
your stalker's response to your request that they
leave you alone.
Note: If you are a female having problems with a
stalker, you may need to seek a female lawyer.
In general, female lawyers will be more understanding
to your situation than male lawyers.

(f) Once this call is made, leave your answering machine at
the lawyer's office and set it up on a line that the
lawyer does not use much.
Turn "on" the call forwarding on your old number to
forward calls to your old phone number to the number
at the lawyer's office.
Your stalker will not know that the calls are being
forwarded and recorded if he is accustomed to he

DO NOT TRY TO SCARE THIS PERSON AWAY!!!!

1 CALL THE POLICE and file a police report.

2 Document the stalking, ie. have someone view/listen to messages and document the number they are receiving a day from the stalker.

3 Use a camera to document drive-by's the house.

4 Photograph any flowers, items left or delivered.

5 Once you have PROOF of the stalking the police are more likely to take you serious.

6 Once you have all your proof take it to the Judge and get a restraining order.

7 CALL THE POLICE THE NEXT TIME THE STALKER DOES ANYTHING AND CALL EVERY TIME THEY DO. THIS IS VARY IMPORTANT. THE POLICE NEED TO DOCUMENT THE STALKERS BEHAVIOR.

I was lucky my father knew my stalker and had a little talk with him and he quit calling 15-20 times a day. I had to prove it to my father by not answering my phone for days so that my father could count the calls.
