How come heavy people get picked on alot?

Because in our culture it's considered bad. In many cultures it's considered a status symbol. At the end of the day, if you're overweight the only concern is your health. If you can weigh too much but have a good heart, eat healthy etc. then you're fine as you are.

I think the fat people are the stronger and the people poking jokes at them are the weaker. They are the ones that are lacking the self esteem and trying to be someone theyre not. Nothing ever comes out of belittling people. The overweight people will prevail and have the last laugh.

Because some people view being fat as a sign of lazyness or lack of self control, they also see a fat person and forget that they could have a brain... Unfortunately, what these people fail to realize is that 8 times outta 10 the person is fat because of a medical problem .. and that a lot of fat people are actually pretty intelligent.

In nature the stronger always pick on the weaker.
Fat people are seen as not (completely) in control of themselves and are therefore felt to be weaker.
It is an unconscious, but unfortunately natural reaction.

people only pick on other people to make themselves feel better. and they always pick on someones faults, you could be the richest person in the world but because you have that fault people all over will make fun of you for it. Teasing someone is never nice but it unfortunately is a part of life. Everyone teases someone sometime in there life whether that other person knows it or not. Unfortuanely obese people seem to get the most of teasing.

Because they look funny - same as a heavy dog, cat, or rabbit. If a heavy person doesn't want to get picked on for looking funny then they should consider changing their lifestyle and eating habits. Unless, of course, they are a part of the very very miniscule part of American society that actually does have a verifiable medical condition that contributes to their weight. Then, like someone born with a physically disfigured face, they will just have to learn to deal with a very cruel fact of life - getting picked on.

why? do you get picked on a lot. dont listen to other people. it doesnt matter how big u are or what u look. all that matters is that you are happy the way you are.
