I am planning a trip to Ireland and Germany but the thought of driving a car there makes this middle age american woman more nervous than i am normally. i'd like to hear from other americans who have driven a car on a trip to europe. is it hard, is it confusing?

no problem at all. the odd feeling you will have is that your left arm wont be on door armrest and your right will be. I dont recommend getting a manual tranny that would be hard for you even if you are use to a stick.

Um, there is no left-hand traffic in Germany. We drive on the right side of the street, just as you do in America, and the steering wheel is on the left side of the car. But there is left-hand traffic in Ireland, that's right. |

Don't know because I've never done that, but you don't need to worry about that in Germany, only in Ireland. |
