The best way is to render them unuseable. Cut and remove any straps, and if possible break the plastic. Remove any cushions.
By the way, thank you. It's nice to see someone concerned about the safety of children. |

With a large permanent marker write "BROKEN" on them, in big letters, on several sides. Then spraypaint Xs over them. Then chop them in half. That should work. |

A few minutes with a hack saw would make them where no one would want them. |

Not sure, but I think you can ask your local fire station. Thanks for being conscientious!! |

Take them to a wreckers & explain that they arent safe. I'm sure they will be able to get rid of them along with all the other garbage they must dispose of all the time. |

if your so worried about it, why dont you cut them up? and once your down to the frame of the seat, snap them. |

This is what i did with my expired car seat.
Grab a scissor and cut the straps and dispose it on different bags.
Then grab a marker and write not safe to use .
has been in a crash.
not safe,, write that all over the seat with a marker.
If possible grab a hammer and break the seat.
Also take out the cover and cut it up in pieces. |

I GUESS THAT YOU HAVE A POINT WITH ALL OF THOSE HUNGRY AND DISHONEST ATTORNEYS OUT THERE THAT IT IS POSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE TO FIND AND USE YOUR OLD SEATS AND GET INTO AN ACCIDENT AND PROBABLY HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE.
RIP THE SEATS UP, CUT THE SUPPORT BRACKETS AND ONCE YOU HAVE THEM IN MANY PIECES THROW THEM AWAY, PIECE BY PIECE. |

Not many people dig through dumps. I think it'll be fine. People that have kids and are concerned about their child's safety aren't going to be digging through the trash to find old carseats. If anything thing they would buy them at a yard sale if they didn't want to brand new. I think you'd be fine taking it the dump. If you don't want to and just have a weekly trash pick up, leave them the morning of by the trash can and it'll be fine. |
