How do I safely leave my car in a garage during Summer?

Ugh. Personally, I would not leave my car in the garage of my apartment building over the summer if I were you. Simple accidents could happen, and with you being away and not able to be notified might cause snags with the insurance process. Do you have a close friend or family member or co worker you can ask for help? Ask if you can park your car at their house through the summer, offer to pay them a small amount. Leave your keys so they can go out and start it and move it. Cars should not just sit that long.

You need to have someone start the car and sit in it running for at least 4 minutes once a week or week and a half. Its not good on a car to let gas and fluids to just sit it a car for great lengths of time. Have them check the air pressure in the tires at least once a month too. So you don't come back to a car sitting on a flat or flats that have done harm to your wheels.

i would not leave it in the garage.... unless it has a security person sitting in a room with a monitor watching all the cars.. why not take it with you.. and only leave it where there is 24 hour security.... it it is stolen you will loose cash the insurance company has a value list that lists its current value and to your suprise that will be a few thousand less than you paid ok.

make sure to inform the owner of the apartment so they dont tag it as abandoned and tow it on you while your gone

it being newer model you can just park it,there shouldn't be any problems with it at all,if you want to be safe about it disconnect the battery cable on it,but its really not necessary to do that,leave them a key and have then start it once in a while and it should be ok,good luck.

put the car on blocks drain all the fluids, but really 3 months isn't that longs, disconnect the battery

The car should be OK if you are leaving it for the summer. I left my 94 Civic on the street for 3 weeks last summer (aug) and it was fine when I returned.

Just let the apartment management know you will be gone so they can contact you if something comes up. Like somebody hits your car and you need to file an insurance claim within some given time limit. etc.

P.S. Your battery might be dead when you return. Just be prepared to call AAA (or a friend) for a jump when you return.

how about stick it in a parking spot and lock it, or doesnt that work anymore?

keep it away from the sun and have a friend or someone start it everyweek so the engine will stay good
