Just gradually turn the wheel. |

It is an elemental rule of movement. No matter if you are walking or driving a vehicle. I am sure someone has pointed this out to you. It is so simple you may have forgotten.
LOOK WHERE YOU WANT TO GO
(and only where you want to go!)
This may sound totally stupid...If you look where you want to go, your body "automatically" follows. Ditto with a vehicle. Car..bike..boat.. it does not matter. |

Drive straight untill you get to the middle of the intersection, while slowing down, then turn your wheel confidently in the direction you want to go and accelerate. This might seem weird at first, but it is the safest way to clear an intersection, since you have the shortest distance to cover. If this does not make sence draw it out and see for yourself. |

I'm guessing you mean smooth rather than straight. Either pay an instructor to show you or ask experienced drivers to sit with you. Without seeing the car and how you corner it'll be difficult to correct your straight, zig zag turns! Are you confident about judging your speed, position and line through a corner? Do you turn the steering wheel smoothly or do you move it left/right quickly because you are not sure how to make the turn? Are you entering the corner too fast and using the clutch or brakes to reduce your speed? Get more training and practice! |

Try the hand over hand method, but make sure you don't cut them to sharp. |

Go into a huge parking lot and practice. Just take your time when turning. At first let your foot completely off the accelerator and roll around the corner. Don't try accelerating around the corner until your used to it. Most people never accelerate around a corner anyway, but this depends on how big the turn is. If your getting on an expressway ramp then of course you have no choice. Practice makes perfect. |

It may because you are not used to driving. If you turn too far, you realise this and turn in the opposite direction to counter that which may lead to more oversteer and the situation you describe.
It just comes with practice. As long as you are aware of the problem, it will get better.
As a precaution though, get a friend to check out the car and make sure it is handling correctly just to make sure it is not the car.
I was the same when I started to learn to drive. I learn to drive on an old tractor with no power steering and I found the steering of a car very light so I over steered all the time. |

the only way that could happen is if you're letting go of the wheel in the middle of the turn which you should never do. or you're moving your hand on the wheel you have to keep you hand steady and hold the wheel.
either that or you have something seriously wrong with you car (like terrible alignment or deflated tires but your tires would squeal when you turned if they were that low) |

Just ease into the turn and use the hand over hand method so that you never let go of the steering wheel.....and you will get better just practice.. |

First of all, stop driving until you figure this out. Take a driving course or something, you have no right to put other people's lives at risk.
When taking a right turn, what you should do is follow the curb (or white line) all the way through the turn—that will help you make a steady, even turn without over or under compensating. When turning left, simply aim for the middle of the lane you are going towards. In both right and left turns, do not turn the wheel back yourself, but rather loosen your grip and allow it to straighten itself out. |

If it goes like a zig zag that means ur turning in two different directions not one...U are in control of the car..make it do what u want it to do..if u want to turn right...turn your wheel right..of course brake a little first! |

like racing turning? lol there isno car i know that goes in a zigzag.
but i thik i see your problem, you just got ur liscense.
OK instead of jolting the wheel on a turn to make sure your inside theline, put your hand on the top of the wheel(left hand) and slowly pull it to the side depending on how far you need to turn pull it more and more, dont bring it back up(thats causing you to zigzag) but the whole problem is right there. it sounds to me like you are misjudgeing the turn strenght.
to fix that you have to get more driving time |
