Air bags improve the stopping time of your face hitting the steering wheel. They have no effect on the car coming to a stop any faster. Brakes do that. Or a brick wall. |

They do not. What they do is to decrease stop the person, before they hit themselves on the dashboard or steering wheel. The rest of the car is unaffected. |
