How do car manufacturers design their cars to reduce injury to pedestrians?

i have been told that there are new laws but would like a website that either lists them or shows what the designers are doing to reduce injury...

The grill height has been increased to spread out impact points during a strike with a human.

Mercedes Benz is an obvious example.

i can tell you 2 ways manufacturers are reducing injury..........

1. manufacturers are making stronger brakes. they slower your car is going when it hits someone, the less injury the person might have. ( if i were going 50mph, and i slammed on the brakes 20ft in front of a pedestrian and i had standard brakes, the brakes would have slowed me down only about 10mph and the guy i hit probably would have been dead or severely injured. if i were going the same speed but i had above standard brakes (stronger ones), then they would have slowed me down around 20mph and the guy i hit would have only been in the hospital a week, but he is still alive)

2. manufacturers are making some cars with sensors on them, so if you are getting too close to somebody or something on the road, the car will automatically out on the bakes and stop the car.

3. manufacturers are also making cars that use less distance to stop. example: on the new mercedes, they have a little mechanism. if you arent paying attention and you are about to hit someone or something, a car that would usually take 50 feet to stop would only take 40 or 30 feet to stop, so the car might not even hit the pedestrian at all, with that system installed.
