One has to obtain a *patent* to copyright ideas.

You cant copyright ideas... However once you put them down on paper then from that moment on they are copyrighted... but for legal purposes depending on what you choose to do with your idea it will behoove you to get them registered by the dept of copyrights. visit the web site www.uspto.gov

Ideas and concepts cannot be copywritten. Only written words, music, song lyrics, computer programs, etc.

I am not a lawyer, but it is my understanding that you cannot copy write an "idea".

You must write down the idea and publish it. Or make something based on the idea and write/get a patent. You should also document everything surrounding the idea while you obtain a copywrite or patent it, in case there is a later challenge.

one way is to mail the idea back to you and never open it...that is a copyright cheap....but if you ever open it its no good
