every one is right, those cameras generally catch people running red lights or speeding and they take a pic of your license plate, then you get a ticket in the mail. Don't break the law and you won't have to worry about it.
however, if you are like me and laugh in the face of traffic laws (especially speed limits) then you could check out a thing called photoblocker. It is a clear coat you spray on your plates and when the camera takes a picture, the flash causes it to be over exposed, making the plates in the picture impossible to read. i don't know how well it works, but just go to
www.photoblocker.com
also check out phantom alert if you have a gps

Most of the devices to prevent your plate from being photographed are illegal. Clear plastic reflective plate covers, photo blocking paint, fold down or flip up hinged plates are all illegal in most states. Some of these options like the blocking paint have been tested and found to not work anyway.
Your best defence against getting a ticket is to obey the law and not roll through on yellow in any intersections where the cameras are in place. Many states require signs posted to indicate if an intersection has photo enforcement. Tickets in my area of CA are about $300-$500. Most cities have found this is a real money maker so they are not going away any time soon. We have intersections near us that are actually more dangerous becuase of the cameras. People coming up to the intersection get stuck out there at no fault of their own because of a bank driveway on the other side of the street. When the light turns yellow people will whip out of their lane and gas it trying to not get a ticket. I would like to see the accident stats on the interesction because I think they have gone up.
The second best defence is to remove your plates from your car altogether. Some people will remove both plates and put them in the trunk. When they are stopped they will be asked about the plates they will show the officer the plates and make some excuse - you pick one. "The plates were falling off so I am trying to get to the hardware store to get some longer bolts." Or "The dealer is getting me the brackets to mount them but they haven't come in yet" or "I just had my car painted and I need to get them back on but the body shop lost the brackets". You can be issued a fixit ticket if the plates are missing. Now as you can see these are all pretty lame excuses so it is just easier to drive carefully. |

Drive properly and you won't get a ticket! There is no way to avoid the camera. It's a myth that certain products make it impossible for the camera to read your plate. |

You should only get a ticket if you break a traffic law. So if you don't want a ticket, don't break a traffic law. Or at least not where a camera could capture evidence of you breaking a traffic law (running a red light for example). |

well u can get the metel frame around your plate, that usally helps but, some cops know about that and they might make you take it off, but those cameras rarly catch you but it happens and its best just to stop |
