Whilst practicing for my theory test (uk) i keep getting stuck on the following type of questions.
What is the shortest overall stopping distance on a dry road at 60 mph?
Mark one answer
A) 53 metres (175 feet) B) 58 metres (190 feet)
C)73 metres (240 feet) D )96 metres (315 feet)
I since learned that the correct answer was (C) but how do you govern this?
(As they usually ask similar questions with different speed, conditions and distance)
Any help would be great,thanks.

I take a simpler approach, for every 10 mph it takes 40 feet using your example. Then multiply the tens by that distance (45 becomes 4.5 X 40= 180 feet). |
