My permit just expired and i've been told by someone i would have to repeat the tests and wait another 6 months and then from someone else that you just get it renewed at the DMV without taking anymore tests or waiting. Help?

What state are you in? I live in North Carolina, so it may be different. I had to get my permit reinstated. I went up there, took the test, and they gave me my permit. They started mailing them through the mail now here, and issue you a 20 day temporary one.
I had mine revoked for failing 2 classes in school. They expired in 2008, and i had to go up there and get them again. Of course, I had to pay a fee because it was revoked.
You will probably have to take the test again. Just study a little bit before you go just in case,
It's better to check just in case. Another thing, you can call your dmv and ask them before you go up there. I ask them stuff all the time. They are usually very good about explaining things to you. Just tell them your permit recently expired, and you would like to know whether or not you can just come up there and renew it, or have to go through the whole process of taking the test and such. You could say you have to know so you can schedule in time to get it done, if they were to as. Which, they wont. |
