They both from the same place, Somalia.
Fishermen carries weapon to protect themselves.
Pirates carries fishing gear to feed themselves.
What's your opinion on this?
and How to differentiate between them both?

Snyker, There is one sure way to tell the difference. If the boats have long ladders attached to the sides, it is a pirate ship. Fisherman never need ladders; pirates need them to board the ships they attack. |

Pirates hijack ships, steal money, kill people, and take hostages. Its not that hard to differentiate the two. Pirates are evil and fisherman just mind their own business and fish. |

1. Pirates use faster boats, because they need to be able to chase their victims and to outrun the navy, if it shows up to stop them. Fishing boats are slower.
2. If they chase you, they are pirates. If they ignore you, they are innocent fisherpersons who do not think you are pirates. if they run away from you, they are innocent fisherpersons who think that you are a pirate. |

Somali pirates don't wear eye patches, and instead of swords they have RPGs (rocket-propelled grenades). They use small, fast speedboats to get around and work in crews of 10 or so.
Once they find a good target, they launch hooks and rope ladders up to board the ship and overwhelm the crew.
They often attack at night. |
