How do you treat yellow lights!?

I stop at yellow lights they used to be shorter when i lived in MI now I live in FL the light is yellow for much longer and EVERYBODY runs the red light I'm gonna get creamed stopping!!

Gary - it's all the huge lawn maintenance trucks hauling trailers that I am afraid of if ever I go through a yellow I have at least 5 cars behind me going!

The yellow light is a warning that a red light is about to show. There has to be a delay since you can imagine what would happen if the light went from green to red, it would be horrific! I do agree that more people are testing the length of time the yellow light is on and therefore are actually going through intersections much faster due to them trying to out run the yellow. That is one reason that law enforcement is being done by cameras in some busy intersections and if proven effective will be done in more intersections in an effort to control the yellow light beaters. I would not worry about getting hit because you obey the yellow. I would rather it be someone else at fault than mine.

Here in Quartzsite Az. when it is yellow you slam on the brakes as hard as you can as we are the biggest speed/red light trap in the nation. The QPD sit in the shell station waiting for you to approach the light at more than 20 mph then switch it.-just like at the movies. Only it is like a $165.00 ticket to play. So you do what ever- then take a road trip and see how many "yellow" lights you run and what it costs.

You can always put a big red triangle on your car and a sign "I brake at yellow"
