How do you usually deal with other drivers who make gestures at you or give you dirty looks? Do you ignore them? Do you retaliate and give them a gesture back? Or do you do something else? Usually I ignore them. The thing to understand about other drivers is you have no idea what their mindset is. If they give me a dirty look, I shrug it off. Mainly because I realize that they don't matter at that particular moment. The other reason is because I don't want to anger them which could trigger road rage. Road rage has been known to seriously injure or even kill drivers involved. So I would rather stay out of it, and continue driving. |

I usually ignore them.
Once in a while I'll give a return gesture to an obnoxious one.
It's an old gesture, worse than the middle finger.
The result is usually a confused look, as most don't understand it. |

I would ignore them. Giving the gesture back may result in a more serious road rage situation that you wouldn't want to be a part of. You would generally want to stay away from anger drivers and give them their space.
I've never been given the finger before or never have noticed, but if I'm having a bad day, I might give the finger back if I have a chance or I might laugh at them and give them a dirty look back. If I see a driver pissed of at me, I might find it funny and might be attempted to do something to piss them off more, but I won't and would drive on. |

SORRY; you said SERIOUS, didn't you. I just ignore them. To acknowledge an azzhole at the wheel only tends to exacerbate the situation. It's better to just pretend that you don't realize that it is you they are trying to intimidate. Every defencive driving course that I've taken emphasizes that point. |
