I really hope this isn't a "if you can see it, it can see you" situation because I CAN'T get any more points...I haven't had my licence long enough and I've already been caught once. I'm absolutely beside myself with worry.

always go to court and fight tickets no matter what it is . if you don't get off the judge usually lowers the amount of points |

It depends on the type of radar used. If it's laser, it can you a loooong way away. Radar isn't as far, but it's still quite a distance. Basically....you need to stop speeding. Nothing you can do about it now, other than wait and see.
But I don't think speed cameras go on your license as 'point offenses.' Most speed cameras in cities aren't owned by the police stations, but by private companies. They just send you the bill.
Think about it, no one is there to verify your driver's license or insurance. How can they prove it was you? Sure, they have a picture - but what if you had a twin, or the person was disguised? There's a lot of factors that make picture-based speeding tickets just a "money making" deal, not a point-based ticket.
In summary, slow down - but don't worry, if they caught you, you'll just have to pay a fine. But this info only pertains to speed cameras in the US, other places in the world it's much more stringent. |
