The only time any vehicle can be called 'safe' is when the engine is off and the vehicle is unoccupied - and that's about 95 pct of the time. The so-called safety devices in motor vehicles are there to reduce the likelihood of death or minimize injuries. This only applies to very specific conditions that affect the impact.
