It should be reported to your insurance co asap.

Report it to whom? If you mean the police, you don't have to at all, unless someone was injured, or if any accusations are being made.

If you mean your insurance company, there's no hard-and-fast rule, though sooner is better than later. (That's assuming you're going to make a claim, of course.) Many insurance companies stipulate that you tell them about *all* accidents, but, of course, what they don't know won't hurt them.......

In the UK there is no need to report an RTA to anybody, assuming that no one was hurt. you do need toexchange a minimum of details (eg name, address & phone numbers, and insurance detaisl if available). if someone was hurt or injured yhen the police should be informed.

you don't need to inform your insurers unless the other party is attempting to claim from your insurers (ie they allege it was your fault), or the other party is uninsured and youneed toget your car repaired.

if its the other parties fault, then you don't need to inform your insurers either.. you can make a claim directly against the other parties insurers.. and it shouldn't affect your no claims in any way shape or form.

if you do inform your insurers then they will probably resolve the matter quicker and with less stress on you, but it may well affect your insurance premium, even if it subsequently turns out to be not your fault.

in nay event write down as soon as possible any and every detail you can in case it does go to insurers. include detaisl,, drawings and witnesses...

u must give more details
generally if u have an accident over a certain amount of $ damage and there were no tow trucks called to scene
police must be informed within 24 hours
the damage $ amount varies state to state in Australia
and if tow trucks were not used just tell police the next day
if minor damage just inform insurance company

it is always best if u are the innocent party to have the culprit sign a paper confirming his fault

Normally just logging the accident with the motor insurance is enough, and follow up with all aspects of the accident asap. Not all insurance companies have staff on duty 24/7 to process claims, but do have someway of logging the accident.
If there are people injured the police should be informed, they will then make a report and this will be important if damages are being claimed.
I do believe that you should inform your insurance company of an accident, whether or not you are going to claim on your policy. In either case it is best to check this, it may invalidate your policy if you are not up-front.

in pa. if both cars can be driven away and there were no injuries you do not need to call the police. this does not mean that you should not contact your ins. carrier as soon as possible.

You need to report this the same day right after the police report was taken before the other party changes what really happened and you get burned................
