My car was broken into, while it was daylight, with people around. Whoever did it totally messed up my door, smashed in the window, went through the glovebox, and stole the stereo. I think it happened within 15 minutes. Can they really do it that fast without creating attention?

Yep - they are good!
I have had two incidents. One was years ago when my car was parked at the back of my house. I heard something so I left my giant dog out - who did nothing. In the morning, my stereo was gone.
The second time they tried to steal my car out of the drive-way, during the night. They drilled through the lock, broke the light and steering column, but didn't get away with the car. I'm not sure why! Now, the neighborhood is well lit and everyone has a sensor light. It is quiet at night, so I'm sure all the neighbors and dogs would have heard something! Guess not! |

Yes, 15 minutes is actually too long. The longer it takes, the greater the risk of getting caught. I'd guess an experienced and determined criminal could probably create the damage you describe in 2-3 minutes, 5 tops. |

Yes , thief's are quite good , so don't buy a new stereo get instead an Ipod, and hook it to a cheap stereo, and don't forget your ipod! |

Can be done in like 5 minutes, by a pro. Just protect yourself with alarms, removable face stereos and try not to park in a bad area. |
