How long does it take to stop at 15mph?

I always stop at the stop signs and I just received a ticket in the mail . I was videotaped.
I'm trying to fight in court.

A recent study showed that in order to stop a car traveling at 15mph (the car would be traveling at a rate of 22 feet per second) it would take 11 feet to brake. However it should be noted that it would take the driver an average of 33 feet to react to an incident, therefore making the total distance to stop = 44 feet. In terms of time, this total would be 2 seconds.

It also depends on where the vehicle came to a stop. If your intial stopp point is past the stop bar, you were violated. If you couldn't see clearly, they want you to stop before the stop bar, them creep forward until you can see clearly before proceeding through the intersection.

alot of stuff come into play my jeep can stop quickly but if im in my work truck (dump truck weight 8,000lbs) its will take a bit more to stop.

my car stops in 150 feet from 60 mph to zero.

It depends on the car, its tires, road conditions and how hard the brakes are depressed.
