How long will Michelin tires last ?

We have Michelin tires on our 03 HR Vacationer motor coach. They have 17000 miles on them and they are well taken care of. They presently show no wear or tear. Will the tires hold up many more years despite age ? They have been cleaned, kept covered, serviced properly?

Rule of thumb is 10 years so you should be good, especially with Michelins. I would check how old the actual tires are though compared to the vehicle. There should be a DOT number imprinted on the side walls, it should be more than 8 letters/numbers long. The last two numbers of the DOT number are the year that the tire was made. In example, fyjk bg83 1702 means that the tires we manufacture in the year of 2002. On some of the tires, the 17 would be the 17th week of 2002. The other letters are indicators of which factory they came out of. Do check the sidewalls for dry rot though, otherwise you should be good... Michelin is top of the line |

michelin tires are one of the best longest lasting tires on the market. i have them on my f250 pickup my first 2 sets of tires(goodyears) lasted 15-18,000miles. the michelins i'm running now have more than that on them and still have half of the tread left to go. |

my dad has had 4 set on his jeep. he travels about 90-150miles a day. and they wear realy good if they made more aggresive ones for my truck i would get them but they dont have any i like. as long as they are well taken care of then they should last but then you start to see cracks in them get a new set. |

As long as there is no wear and tear on the tread, they should last longer. But remember these are tires, so you never know. |

Lets see, they are going on 6 years old and only have 17000 miles,,,the treads may be like new, but I would would be concerned about dry rot, checkering of the sidewalls etc. get a tire expert to give a professional opinion. |
